Intas Moxidecton (voxidectin) is an endectocide prescribed for use in animals to treat and control internal and external parasites.
INDICATIONS
Dogs (Small Animal Formulations)
- Heartworm Disease: Used for the prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis.
- Hookworms: Used in the treatment and control of common hookworm infections such as Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala.
- Roundworms: Controls intestinal roundworms like Toxocara cati and Toxascaris leonina.
Cattle (Large Animal Formulations)
- Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Treats and controls adult and L4 larvae stages of Ostertagia ostertagi, Haemonchus placei, Cooperia species, and Trichuris species.
- Lungworms: Effective against Dictyocaulus viviparus.
- Cattle Grubs: Treats Hypoderma bovis and Hypoderma lineatum.
- External Parasites: Controls Psoroptes ovis (mites), Linognathus vituli, and Solenopotes capillatus (lice).
ADMINISTRATION
- Vaccination timing in dogs: Injectable formulations should not be administered concurrently with vaccinations due to potential adverse or anaphylactic reactions.
- Health status: It is generally not recommended for use in sick, debilitated, or underweight animals.
- Withdrawal periods for cattle: When using large animal injectables, consult the product label for specific meat and milk withdrawal periods to ensure food safety compliance.
